X-Men Writer Says MCU Reboot Will Prioritize "Character-First Storytelling"

Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot will reportedly place a strong focus on character-driven storytelling, according to writer Lee Sung Jin.

Speaking in a recent interview, Jin explained that the new film aims to emphasize the emotional relationships and personalities of the mutant heroes rather than relying mainly on large-scale action and spectacle. He also cited the classic Chris Claremont era of X-Men comics as a major inspiration for the project.

The reboot is currently being developed by Marvel Studios alongside director Jake Schreier and writer Joanna Calo, with Marvel president Kevin Feige said to be closely involved in the creative process.

The film is expected to introduce a new generation of mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the events of Avengers: Secret Wars. While an official release date has not yet been announced, reports suggest production could begin later this year.
